If you did not like the Windows Media Player that you just updated or for any other reason you wanted your previous version of media player back, you can restore it by the following steps:
Insert the the XP CD into the CD drive (if auto starts, click exit).
Go to Start -> Run and then type
"rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection InstallWMP7 132 c:\windows\inf\wmp.inf"
and enter.
