Crime and yoga are two words not often used together in the same sentence, and this is part of the reason that they are combined in this article. When you think of stereotypical criminal, who's doing yoga just don't come to mind. We think of criminals as anger, or at least very actively, while Yoga is considered calm and sedentary. The two really so far apart that it is hard to think that someone who regularly conducts yoga classes ever may have been the culprit. Perhaps Yoga would be required to fight the crime rate? Here's why:
Yoga classes begin with simple exercises-exercises is permanent: breathe. You can spend a large part of a yoga class, focusing on the simple action of taking a deep breath, inhaling it and feeling it the living power of the distant body, breath, and then only as a deeply and completely. This simple act of mindfulness of breath has an unprecedented opportunity to focus our mental concentration. This allows us to remove unwanted or disturbing thoughts and re-establish themselves in Central balance.
Soothing and associated benefits of yoga, breathing exercises quickly and easily remove the types of distractions and temptations, which might lead to a criminal act, at least one impulsive. Imagine the potential for common criminals-the ability to take time before the Commission of the offence, to focus their thoughts and realize that this is not the best course of action and should be avoided.
Most domestic violence is a direct result of too much stress and strain in relations. Statistics show that the arguments that lead to a case of domestic violence, almost always the little things. The last straw, being a little thing and not a major issue. Let's stick to calm yourself, sharpen our minds and rationalization in this situation. Domestic violence is a result of people snap. Line up the mind and calms itself would mean that people never got to that point.
Other types of violent crime are similar to those of domestic violence-they take place when tension rises over time, until one man snaps and throws a punch or pulls a knife. With the right self soothing tools at their disposal, these criminals would be much less likely to offend.
Of course, all of that assumes that the offender does not want to commit a crime and only doing it because of the inability to see an alternative, when a certain set of circumstances present themselves. They're hungry and can take a loaf of bread, so what they do, or they feel threatened, unappreciated or disrespected and see, striking out once. Yoga would not benefit calculation view of what makes a career criminal activities because the each crime carefully ahead of time pondering.
Or will it be?
Most people know about the physical side and, at least, heard of mental and spiritual benefits of yoga, but few know that exercises that form the basis of yoga are just worlds of the Western interpretation of the Yoga. Traditionally the Indian Yoga includes a whole philosophy about how to treat each other and live our lives. If criminals have also followed this component of yoga, one would see the crime vanish. You can only dream of.
